Did you know Garrotxa is the wettest corner of Catalonia, and the only volcanic area in the Peninsula? Climb a volcano with a chapel in the crater, walk through a magical forest, enjoy a waterfall and visit the beautiful towns of Santa Pau and Banyoles.

What are we doing?

In the morning we leave Girona for Santa Pau, where we will visit it's medieval wall and Old Quarter. We'll then continue towards the Santa Margarida Volcano, where we will have breakfast before climbing to the Chapel of Santa Margarida, right in the middle of the crater. When we're back, we will go to La Fageda, a magical beech forest on a volcanic lava hill, stroll under the shades of its tall trees, discover what the tossols are and feel the steps of our ancestors. We will have a packed lunch and we will head towards Banyoles, where we will explain its origins and history with a guided tour along the shores of its magnificent, marvelous lake.
